Christmas 2018

Christmas time always seems to fly by, and this year was no different!  We enjoyed the season and even had a little snow this year.

This is the third year that we have attended the Pullen Park holiday event.  Leighton is writing her letter to Santa.

My mom began creating and hand-painting these beautiful ornaments this year.

It snowed- on my birthday!  The girls played outside all day!

On the last day of school, Leighton and some of her friends were invited over to create a special Swedish ornament.  It is called a Smallkaramell or a "christmas cracker".  There is a toy hidden inside and on Christmas Eve, she (carefully) opened it up!  Her friend Linnea is from Sweden.  The girls loved doing this, and it is so special to me that she is sharing in her friend's beautiful Christmas tradition!

We had a wonderful time with family~ we began in Seagrove for "Naddy Christmas" on the 22nd with my mom's extended family.  On the 23rd we celebrated with my dad, and on the morning of the 24th, my mom.  On Christmas Eve evening, we joined the Henderson family for our first gathering since my grandmother passed in April.  It was good to all be together.  We always sleep in our beds Christmas Eve night and the girls wake up to surprises from Santa here.  On Christmas night we head to Bethel for the Bunting Christmas and from there celebrate with John's mom and then John's dad on the 26th.  We come home tired, but we have lots of special memories from the time with family.

All Lainey wanted for Christmas was the, "American girl doll washing machine"- that's what she told everyone!  Ha!  Santa came through!

 

I think John has so far enjoyed Leighton's big girl bike the most- ha!

Merry Bunting Christmas!

HUGE shoutout to Mamoo and Big Pa who kept the girls for the weekend after Christmas!  Mom and Dad got a date night in and I got a TON done around the house.  It is amazing how much you can accomplish kid-free! 

Christmas 2018 was fun- bring on 2019!  And some much needed down time ;)!
