Chicago

Last Friday we boarded a plane and headed for Chicago! My hardworking husband won a sales promotional trip from his company, US Foodservice, to the Windy City. We arrived on Friday afternoon to the Ritz-Carlton Hotel and checked in to our room on the 21st floor. We were hungry so we headed to a Chicago favorite, Giordano's Pizza. They are famous for their stuffed pizza. It was sooooo yummy!!!
After lunch, I could hardly wait to head to Michigan Avenue, also known as "The Magnificent Mile", to go shopping! We visited a few stores~ of course two of them were baby stores! We bought sweet little Leighton a few new outfits, tested out some strollers, and even treated ourselves to a few new things. Two neat little baby stores were Galt Baby, where we had fun playing with strollers, and Preggers Maternity, a store with maternity clothes for mommies-to-be and baby clothes as well.
On Saturday we visited the Navy Pier. The water in Lake Michigan is so clear and blue!

Saturday night we dined at a Brazilian Steakhouse called Brazzaz. This was a unique way to dine! Servers called passadores, or carvers, come around with several different kinds of beef, chicken, and seafood. You have a little card that you turn on an orange side if you would like more food, or a black side if you are full. There is an extensive salad bar that you visit for side items. It was lots of fun!

On Sunday we went on a double-decker bus. This was one of my favorite parts of the weekend! It was 88 degrees and sunny, so we decided to hop up top and enjoy the scenery. We had an excellent tour guide that showed us the wonders of Chicago. Here are just a few:
Presbyterian Church near our hotel where parts of "My Best Friend's Wedding" were filmed:

The view from our bus of the city behind the lake:
Trump Towers- this was supposed to be the tallest building in the world, but construction was scaled back after 9/11, according to our tour-guide:

Aqua- I thought this building was amazing- it looks just like water on the beach!:

Corn-on-the-cob buildings:

Oprah's Residence:
The John Hancock Building- we went up into this buildings top floors last time we visited, but opted out this time :):

We had a wonderful time! I love Chicago and would go back for a third time if offered the opportunity. I recommend it to everyone! Here is a picture of me, 23 1/2 weeks pregnant on our trip to Chicago:
You are so stinkin cute! Glad you guys had a great time!
