9 Months

The 9 month photo shoot was by far the most exciting! (Please excuse the fan in the background- 1960's home + attic crawl space in L's closet = toasty room in need of a fan). She was alllllll over the place! Haha! My mom (Mimi) came for a visit and we had a ball trying to get these pictures (and a thank you to her for creating the sign, which is no more after this shoot...).

The bear was meant to distract her from the sign...

And then she found the bear's bow...

And then she threw the bow on the floor...

And then she saw the sign!

"I realllly want that sign Mommy!"

There was an attack on the sign in between this picture and the one before- after that was over, Leighton was over the pictures ;)

HEY Mommy!

This little girl loves to play peek-a-boo!

At 9 Months Leighton...

- loves to read so much! Before every nap and before bedtime we always read. Her favorites are 'Brown Bear, Brown Bear What Do You See', 'Pat the Bunny', 'On the Night You Were Born', and 'Do Your Ears Hang Low'. I actually got teary-eyed tonight because she was doing the sweetest most amazing thing (to her Mommy); after I would read the page, she would turn the page- every time! Melt my heart!!!

- calls the cats "ttttt". This is stinkin' adorable!!! And today my mom (Mimi) and Leighton were reading a book we have with kitty cat pictures and fur. She looked at the picture of the orange cat, looked at Banks (see The Sparrow Family posting, Banks is the rather large cat on the right) and looked at the picture again and said, "ttttt"!!!! And she always says it when I point to the cats and say "kitty"! Melt my heart again!!!

- is recovering from her 3rd virus; the 2nd in the past 3 weeks :(.

- is pulling up and attempting to crawl (if she could only get the hang of the knees).

- loves to pull up on me or on my hands and stand.

- is wearing 9-12 month and 12-18 month clothes.

- weighs around 18 pounds, give or take.

- takes 2 naps per day- around 9am and around 1pm, each nap lasting anywhere from 1 1/2 hours to 2 1/2 hours (on occasion).

- sleeps from 7pm until about 6/6:30am.

- is eating Stage 2 and Stage 3 foods. Her favorites are still sweet potatoes and bananas!

- loves her sippy cup!

- enjoys Baby Mum-Mums, Puffs, Yogurt Bits and frozen fruits in the mesh pouch.

- is wearing Size 3 diapers during the day and Size 4 diapers at night.

- still only has 2 teeth.

- enjoys bath time and the swimming pool.

- takes walks almost every morning with her Mommy.

- cuddles in bed almost every morning with her Daddy.

Leighton we just adore you and love you with everything in our hearts! You are so much fun and we wake up every morning excited to see what you will accomplish each day. I continue to be amazed at the joy of parenthood- it's truly the most wonderful gift in the world!
