Independence Day!

And indeed it is!!! Look who gained her independence today, on the 4th of July! Off she goes, crawling away!

We got home from the River last night, and my mom came for a visit today. We were planning on going to the pool, but it was a little too smoky outside because of the wildfires. We decided to stay home and play instead. Well, we were upstairs in Leighton's room having some fun, and she just started crawling!!! She has been close for weeks, and I have been sitting on pins and needles waiting for the big moment, except today. Isn't that funny how things happen when you least expect them to?! What an exciting day! She was in bed by 6:30pm (normally she's down about 7pm), exhausted from being such a busy girl!

We had a marvelous 4th of July weekend at the River with John's family. Here is John with Leighton in her little pool.

Here is the crew! Yes, we all fit into 1 house and share 2 showers! We had a ball and Leighton enjoyed her first 4th in Bath on tha Rivah! :)
