A Weekend of Celebration
This past Saturday was full of celebration! I left early in the afternoon and headed a short distance out of town to our dear friends Kelli & Michael's house. They were hosting a Gender Reveal party for their baby to be~ coming in June. It was a small close-knit crowd- their family and me and another couple- and we were all on pins and needles waiting for them to cut the cake!
The BIG MOMENT finally arrived..........

| IT"S A BOY!!!!!! |
Leighton is so blessed with all these little future "boyfriends"- oh my, haha!
I left the party a little bit early because I had another to attend! My sister-in-law, Beth, was turning 30!!! Whoop whoop! And did we ever have a fun night celebrating! She and her childhood friend Daniel had a joint shin-dig. They had a band, and John's dad catered bbq and shrimp and other fixin's.
Our weekend ended on a sad note, but one filled with the celebration of a wonderful life! John's Poppa passed away last week and we had his funeral service yesterday morning. It was a beautiful service in a small family cemetery surrounded by some of the most peaceful farmland ever. John spoke on behalf of his family, and had us all laughing through our tears. His eulogy was so heartfelt and brought so many memories of their Poppa to his family.
